Behind The Scenes at Eureka Street

The BBC NI drama Eureka Street was first transmitted in 1999 and was adapted from Robert McLiam Wilson's novel, Eureka Street. Filmed on location in Belfast, it starred Vincent Regan, Mark Benton as Chuckie and Dervla Kirwan (Ballykissangel). Eureka Street won many awards but most notably it won the ‘Certificate of Merit at the San Francisco International Film Festival - Golden Gate Awards. Below are some exclusive photos that were taken during filming.

'Don't shoot - I'm only taking your photo'!!

Garfield street, in the centre of Belfast was the chosen location to 'blow up'. Only one side of the street was used for filming. The other side was left intact.

Even though filming was taking place at this 'bomb scene' the businesses on the street were still trading as normal

The art director, Shane Bunting seems pleased with the mess he made!
