Awards - Television Drama Festival Awards List 1997

"Dance Lexie Dance" won the Silver Plaque in the Short Subject category at Intercom (The International Communications Film & Video Competition), Chicago, USA (Sep 1997).
"Dance Lexie Dance" won the 1st prize in the Best Irish Shorts category at the Galway Film Fleadh. This is the Tiernan MacBride award (July 1997).
"Ballykissangel" (Series I) won an RTS Programme Award for Best TV Series on 22 May 1997.
Robert Cooper was awarded a PANI Award (the Tom Chambers award from the Publicity Association of Northern Ireland) for outstanding achievement.
"The Precious Blood" was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Drama Single (April 1997).
"Dance Lexie Dance" won the Special Jury Award and the Audience Award at the Aspen Short Film Festival in Colorado, USA (April 1997).
"Ballykissangel" (Series I) was nominated for two BAFTA Awards for Best TV Series and Best Original TV Music (April 1997).
"Dah Dit Dah" won one of the Irish World Heritage Film Awards at the Kino Festival of New Irish Cinema in Manchester (March 1997). It was chosen as the best short in the "Northern Lights" category.
"Dance Lexie Dance" director, Tim Loane, won the Frank Copplestone award, a First-Time Director award, at the Celtic Film Festival in Cornwall (March 1997).
"The Precious Blood" received a Silver Dove Award (Unda Prize) at the Monte Carlo Television Festival (February 1997). This is a special jury award for fiction in the light of the subject of the film.
