we have not heard, as yet, whether there will be a second series.
Are the episodes repeated elsewhere on the schedule?
Sorry, there are no scheduled repeats of individuel episodes
of Lilies.
What is the theme music?
The theme music was especially composed by Kevin Sargent.
Is the story based on a book? If so where can I buy it?
No it's not based on a book. It is an original 8 part drama series written
by the acclaimed screen writer Heidi Thomas.
Where was the series filmed? Was it in Liverpool?
Yes, the series was filmed in Liverpool.
What made the writer choose the name Brazendale?
Heidi - "We have a lot of Irish names in the show, so I wanted
a name that was indigenous to the North West, and had a dignified ring
to it. I heard the name once or twice in passing when I was growing
up in Liverpool, and thought it was rather attractive. When I looked
it up I discovered that it was an old Lancastrian name, so decided it
would fit rather nicely."
What is the exact location of the series?
Heidi - "The series is set “Under the Bridge”, in the
area of Garston closest to the docks. I had family in Chesterton Street,
Thomas Street, Etruria Street and Hardy Street , and the fictitious
Portugal Street is an amalgamation of all of these. The set was specially
built on waste ground in Aintree, on the far side of Liverpool. The
church, beaches and docks all represent specific places in or very near
to Garston but were filmed at historically appropriate locations across
the city."
