Taghnevan Youth and Community Centre

Introduction


Taghnevan Youth and Community Centre based in Glenholme Park, Lurgan opened in 1996. The centre provides residents from Taghnevan and neighbouring areas with a safe place to socialise and take part in a range of activities including a parents and toddlers group, a pre-school play group, a youth club and a senior citizens club.

 


The Senior Citizens Group comprises 35 members and volunteers who meet weekly for a range of activities, a hot meal and a game of bingo. The group have taken part in Tai Chi, upholstery, glass-painting, boccia and reminiscence classes. The Communities team recently spent a day with the senior citizens and made a short film about their reminiscing project.
