Launched in the year 2000 and containing over 65 hours of moving image about Northern Ireland from 1897 to 2000, Northern Ireland Screen's Digital Film Archive (DFA) is a valuable and accessible resource for researchers, historians, students and anyone interested in moving image and the history of Northern Ireland.

The archive, which is frequently updated with new material, contains a wealth of images which have been collected from a wide variety of sources, including drama, animation, news items, documentaries, newsreels, amateur and actuality film. Moving images are held on a computer which allows easy access to the material. The contents can be navigated through selected highlights, a browse option or keyword search.

The DFA can be accessed from a number of sites across Northern Ireland , including the BBC's Community Bus. For a full listing of venues go to www.digitalfilmarchive.net/dfa
