University of the Third Age (U3A)

Introduction


The University of the Third Age is an educational self-help organization. It draws on the wealth of knowledge and experience of its members to set up study groups and common interest groups. It also organises various recreational activities.


Mary Cunningham and the Newry branch of the University of the Third Age worked with the BBC Community Bus team to produce a short film about their organisation and what life is like for retirees in the Newry and Down area.

U3A Newry present a weekly radio programme on local community radio station IUR-FM and the group were hoping to gain some new skills from the Community Bus team including, interviewing, scripting and presenting during the 2 day radio production workshop.
