SureStart

Introduction

SureStart is a government programme that aims to deliver the best start in life for young people. It incorporates early education, childcare, health and family support. Saol Úr SureStart covers Upper Springfield, Whiterock and the Falls Park area.

The Bus team spent a couple of days at the Upper Springfield Development Trust with members of SureStart Fathers' Support Group. The fathers were given the opportunity to improve their reading skills in the Bus studio by presenting news, weather and traffic and travel bulletins. They also interviewed some of the SureStart staff about the importance of being actively involved in their children's lives.
