Drumalis Retreat Centre

Introduction


In Northern Ireland there are around 185,000 carers providing unpaid care for a friend or family member. Being a carer can be hugely demanding and has wider social and economic benefits. It is estimated that carers contribute £3.12 billion to the Northern Ireland economy.

Margaret McDonald is the Carers' Co-ordinator for the Belfast Health Trust and helped organise a 'pamper' day at Drumalis in Larne.  Drumalis is a retreat centre owned and managed by the Sisters of the Cross and Passion.
