The Family Appeal is a joint venture between The Salvation Army and the Society of St Vincent de Paul, with broadcast support from BBC Northern Ireland. It collects Christmas toys and gifts for disadvantaged children across Northern Ireland. Thanks to the generosity of local people and organisations last year's Appeal distributed gifts to over 11,500 children.

It's important for the charities to receive gifts as soon as possible – allowing time for packing and distribution ahead of the Christmas holidays. Gift donations should be new, safe, non-perishable and should be suitable for children and young people up to 16yrs. No wrapping is required. Family gifts are always welcome – board games, a tin of biscuits etc.

Gifts can be left at a range of different locations. The closing date for donations is Wednesday 14th December, 2011. All support is very much appreciated.
