Blast Northern Ireland: Soundstage

Soundstage in music

BBC Blast & NEELB: SoundStage

"In November 2008, Blast worked with the NEELB to bring you Soundstage, a live television music programme in BBC Blackstaff Studios in Belfast. It was a chance for four young bands to experience the lights, camera and action of a live television environment and showcase their talent in front of thousands of people in the very studio that has hosted performances by U2 & Ash.

As well as playing in front of a studio audience, their performances were being broadcast LIVE on BBC Interactive and on the BBC Blast website.

Two young people also had the opportunity to fine tune their presenting skills by hosting the show, while over 25 young people were behind the scenes as part of the crew. With roles including camera operator, sound engineer, floor manager and make-up, they were shadowing BBC industry professionals, learning valuable skills along the way."
