Blast Northern Ireland: Milk Cup 2009

Milk Cup 2009 in media

"In July 2009, BBC Blast in conjunction with the NEELB worked with nineteen young people from schools and colleges in the North Eastern board area to broadcast seven Milk Cup football matches live from the Ballymena Showgrounds from Monday 27th - Thursday 30th July.

Most of the young people, who had never worked in the media before, filled every TV crew role imaginable from camera operator to assistant director and floor manager for all seven matches. A dedicated crew also filmed and produced short documentaries on the opening ceremony and all of the events behind the scenes.
The matches, including the likes of Manchester United, FC Porto and Germany, were broadcast live on BBC Interactive, on the BBC Milk Cup site and right here on BBC Blast Northern Ireland and were watched by over half a million people worldwide."
