While watching a show sometime in the late 1990's, I told my wife that I wanted to walk the main street in BallyK before I died. We later spent a week in the Dublin area and took advantage of a tour to Avoca via train and bus. It was wonderful.

To see the stone bridge, Fitzgerald's pub, Kathleen's store, and the interior of the great church was the treat of a lifetime. I recommend it to everyone.

I have just seen the final episode of Ballykissangel, and I would like you to know what a wonderful program it is.My family and I are huge fans and always have been, but the final episode just topped the cake for us. We live in Broken Hill, Australia and when Father Vincent named us as his home town the noise in our lounge room was incredible!

Thanks again for a fabulous show, we look forward to another series. Dionne

Just wondering how long you plan to keep the Ballykissangel site open now that the programme has been dropped..  If I could compliment you on your wonderful efforts to date and say what a joy it is for me to recap on old episodes in the ‘Remember the Day’ section.  Please keep the site open for as long as you can.

Hilary

Thank you for your kind words. And yes. we do hope to keep site for as long as we can.

My wife and I learned of the show about a year ago from a friend whose watched for some some time.  He thought we'd be interested when my wife told him about our trip to Ireland for holiday.  We've watched ardently ever since.  It's hard to believe that the best thing to do for a couple of 30 year olds on a Saturday night is watch a re-run of a TV program, but it is!  When we can't watch we always tape it.  However, for the entire month the programming has been changed on our local PBS program and we are having withdrawals (which is what prompted me to fin your site).  I've mailed the station to ask when Ballyk will be back a regular schedule, but have heard nothing yet.
Great site, and great program!

Thank you for your website.  Without it I wouldn't have found out about the deaths of Mr. Sweeney and Mr. Doyle. I have received such enjoyment from the work that they did and will miss them both very much.  I do like the new characters in the 6th season but I got whiplash from the departure of so many of the previous characters.  Is that the end of them ?????  Is that the end of the series ????? Say it ain't so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Ballykissangel is just too good a series to stop just yet.  IF you're looking for votes, I vote to keep Ballyk going for a while longer.
One of your faithful Yank viewers, Patti Moore

I love Ballyk and look forward to each episode.  So sorry to hear such a popular show has ended. We just started the sixth season here in Iowa U.S.A. I am curious to know if they explained what happened to the charactors that are missing.  We went from the wedding to a new priest and alot of new people. I understand about Quigley, but where did everyone else go?  Father Aidan, his sister Orla, Padraig.  I heard Eamonn died, but did they explain it on the show?  Love the show,  just curious about all the loose ends I guess.

Linda,at the end of series 5, Fr Aidan moved on and Orla went with him. When Sean Dillon got married to Niamh, his daughter Emma went back to London with them. As for Padraig, he left back in the earlier series. The departure of Eamonn's character was not explained in the show but the Ballyk did dedicate an episode to Birdy Sweeney. Hope this helps

Subject: How Many Episodes in Series 6

Sat 28/04/2001 18:39
BBC America has shown episodes 1-8 of the final season. How many more will there be, or is that it?

Yes, that was the last series of Ballykissangel and there were only eight episodes in series six.
