| Brian Quigley (Tony
Doyle) is persuaded to stand for election against Sean Dooley
(Owen Roe) after the death of the local representative at the
Irish Parliament - The Dail. He (Quigley ) pays for the replacement
of the church bell, something that Father Clifford is right
to be suspicious of. Niamh is also unimpressed by her father's
reluctance to pay for her wedding reception. A television crew
turns up to cover the election and the reporter turns out to
be Assumpta's ex-boyfriend Leo McGarvey (James Nesbitt), who
is still in love with her. |
| |
| A skeleton is found
on Quigley's building site by Quigley's men - Liam and Donal
(Joe Savino and Frankie McCafferty). While local Garda Ambrose
is tempted to press charges against Brian Quigley, Fr. Peter
suggests that they shouldn't postpone the wedding any longer
and if Brian is willing to pay for it, Ambrose could drop the
charges. |
| |
| Sean Dooley wins
the election but Father Mac and Brian are not disappointed -
this means that Dooley gets shipped off to Dublin out of their
way. Leo gives up chasing Assumpta and leaves after suggesting
that she's interested in Father Clifford. |
