Ballykissangle Examiner
Accident at Durras Point
Ambrose Egan

Fears are mounting in Ballykissangel today over the condition of local Garda Ambrose Egan. A search party set off earlier when it was discovered that Mr. Egan had failed to appear for work. As The Examiner went to press it was learned that Mr. Egan may have been involved in an accident at Durrus Head.

Garda Egan was recently seen at a party hosted by Mr. Sean Dillon. It is understood that he left the party alone. His wife remained until the early hours. The disappearance of Garda Egan came to light when he failed to turn in for work. Inspector Foley of Cilldargan visited the Egan home and it is believed that he spoke with Mrs Niamh Egan - Ambrose's wife.

She became concerned about her husband after discovering his uniform and radio in his room even though he was supposed to be at work. Speaking to The Ballykissangel Examiner, local shop keeper Kathleen Hendley described Mr. Egan as "being very upset in recent days, as if something of great importance was on his mind."

As the Examiner went to press it was understood that the search party, which included Mrs. Egan, had discovered something of great significance at Durrus Head.

Quigley and ballon "It was a French Farce after all." was Mr. Brian Quigley's only response to this newspaper's enquiries regarding the outcome of the Balloon Race in which he nearly drowned.
