Audience Council for Northern Ireland

Who We Are

Who we are The Audience Council Northern Ireland is chaired by the National Trustee, who is also a member of the BBC Trust.

The Council is made up of 11 volunteers – men and women from a breadth of backgrounds, both cultural and geographical, from all over Northern Ireland and are required to reflect the diversity of local audience views.

Anyone over the age of 16 is eligible to apply and Council appointments are made through an open and transparent process, based on the merit principle. There are regular recruitment rounds, which are publicly advertised.

Council members give freely of their time for meetings, engagement with members of the public and BBC stakeholders as well as representing audiences at consultations with the Trust.
