Six Pack
Jet Project, 13th June
The Jet Project's Timmy Stewart rifled through his record collection to bring us his half dozen tunes of the moment for the ATL Dance Six Pack...

1. Jay Haze - I Can't Forget, MK's All Alone Remix (Tuning Spork)
A welcome return from Marc Kinchen here as he provides a fantastic old school house rub of this great Jay Haze vocal cut. Traditional house sounds seem to have become very trendy of late, so it's cool to see the original old masters getting a nod and this one called on for remix duties.

2. The Equisite Corpse - Time Is Only A Word, Jet Project Remix (Octopus)
An exclusive of our forthcoming Jet Project remix for fellow Irish producer Sian (and his brothers as far as I know). This sees us heading into darker waters but still retaining the essential funk. It's due for release around August time on their Octopus label.

3. Jamie Jones - Snake Pit (Crosstown Rebels)
Taken from a sampler for Jamie's forthcoming album on CTR is this bonus track from the Galactic Space Bar EP. The main track is a collaboration with 80's favourite the Egyptian Lover, which is good in it's own right but I'm also drawn towards the dark acidic vibes of this track that makes even more sense through a decent club sound system. Really looking forward to seeing what Mr. Jones has to offer up to the Shine dance floor, after hearing his last few releases.

4. Kiki - Good Voodoo, Visionquest Remix (B-pitch)
Without doubt one of the biggies this summer for me. Such a great backing trackcombined with a killer vocal and bags of funk to boot. Kiki has provided the original track and the package comes with a great line up of remixes, including great Chaim and Jay Haze versions but the Detroit via Berlin super group Vision Quest (Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss) have really turned the funk up to the maximum on their mix. Somebody better call the doctor right enough, they're not hot, they're on fire.

5. Jump - Funkatarium (Dark Records)
Still doing the damage 16 years down the line. I think the first time I heard this Steve Proctor played it at the Art College and I was only around 17 at the time. It def grabbed my attention that night and still serves me well to this day.

6. Buraka Som Sistema - IC19, James Talk Remix (Fabric)
I think this is the first release on Fabric's label and what a stormer of a mix Mr. Talk has served up here. I've not heard the original version tbh but I think he's taken a choice section of vocal and built a great groove around it that is so perfect for summer.
