Six Pack
Timmy Stewart, 6th December
Timmy Stewart returns to point us in the direction of his six favourite tunes of the moment in the latest installment of the ATL Dance Six Pack.

King Midas Sound - One Ting - Dabrye Remix - Hyperdub
One part downtempo, one part house, one part funk and on the dubstep label that's home to Burial. I don't really know much about Dabrye who is on superb form on remix duties here but after hearing this gem I'm definitely going to be seeking out further productions by him. The amazing full vocal, off kilter stabs and killer programming on offer here all help form a proper slice of future funk.

Brett Johnson - Gypsy Blue - Resopal Red
Mr. Johnson makes a fine return to form with this killer piece of house music. Crunchy distorted drums carry the track for the floor but with the combination of the clean guitar chords and weird diva style vocal mean he's come up with something extremely fresh sounding. This sits up magically in a club and always brings the ladies to the floor that in turn keeps the guys on the floor.

Matt Star - Kuhle Fliege - Hugo Remix - International Freakshow
Man of the moment Hugo comes up trumps again with this killer re-rub for Mat Star. After his stellar remix of Ratman, Italian house hero Hugo has delivered dancefloor gold once again by combining his great techy tribal drums with the killer vocal hook from the original. His star is definitely set to shine in 09.

Christian Malloni - Thangs - Kolour Recordings
Taken from Christian Malloni aka CPM's new Pow Wow EP on Kolour recordings is this solid club track called Thangs. A familiar vocal sample is edited around swinging house drums and an elastic lead sound not dissimilar to Paul Woolford's Erotic Discourse hit. The whole EP is actually worth checking as the lead track and Alland Byallo remixes are also great examples of solid forward thinking house music.

Dark Energy - Atomic Witchdokta - UR
This month's blast from the past (1994 to be precise) is this great track from the ever-reliable UR stable. Made by the Suburban Knight aka James Pennington, the Atomic Witchdokta sits somewhere in between house and techno and has served me so well over the years. Secret weapon no more it still sounds incredibly fresh and was without a doubt so ahead of it's time.

Droido - Twice - Missive
Andy Graham aka Sei A/Droido sends me so much incredible music that I recently rediscovered this gem from a folder of promos on my desktop. Taken from his forthcoming long player for Missive entitled Editing Shadows he has teamed up with a mystery female vocalist and further proves why he's turning heads in the world of house music right now and going to be one of the big success stories of 09.
