Six Pack
Timmy Stewart, 6th June
The Belfast DJ, producer and promoter provides us with an eclectic selection in this week's Six Pack, including one of his own. On reflection, we're not sure if that should be allowed. Best draw up some rules. Anyway, here they are...

Driodo feat. Samuel Lancine - Ride (Missive)
More quality stuff from the ever-prolific Andy Graham. The guy must sleep in the studio as he sends me about two or three new tracks a week. This is just top quality deep house music with a possible influence from Maurizio's Main St series from way back and features the amazing vocals of Samuel Lancine. It's taken from Andy's debut album for Missive currently entitled 'Editing Shadows' and it should be out towards the end of this year or the start of next. Expect big things from this guy pretty soon.

Timmy Stewart - Sweat (Elevation)
This is from my new EP forthcoming on Elevation Recordings and is me in full summer house mode. A pretty upbeat groove that's jam packed with mad effects and weird programming. It's due to get the remix treatment from Nacho Marco who's done some killer stuff for Freerange recently. So I'm really looking forward to see what he comes up with.

Croucher and Myles - Vicious Circle, Alex Smoke Rmx (Soma)
Soma are really churning them out this weather and it's all top notch house and techno so I'm well pleased when I see a new promo from them in my inbox. This remix by Alex Smoke is absolutely brilliant. I love the way the whole track has this really disjointed and stuttered feel but is still so unbelievably funky. Think Aphex Twin getting mashed with Carl Craig and Basic Channel and you'll be pretty close to the vibe on this one. Outstanding!

TC 1991 - Berry, Paul Woolford Re-Edit (UCR)
This is my blast from the past this month. Although Paul Woolford has re-edited the drums and added some extra effects to cause havoc on today's dancefloors, the music is still in exactly the same format as the original mix which is now almost 17 years old. This is a true classic and I can imagine it still sounding relevant for a long time to come.

Djamel - Quit De-Bugging, Matador Rmx (Aciitone Digital)
This is the next release on Dublin's wicked Aciitone imprint and the remix is by a guy from Ireland I predict big things for next year. Matador's stuff just keeps getting better and better. This remix has really done the damage for me over the last few months and I've had loads of people coming up to the booth and all sorts of DJs asking me what it was as it's been playing. Big driving melodic techno and if Gav keeps knocking them out like this people are really going to have to sit up and take notice.

Micky Moonlight - Interplanetary Music, Riton's Eine Kliene rub (White)
Don't know that much about this as Riton gave it to me pretty recently on iChat. He claims to be on a mission to bring the saxaphone back! All I know is that it's a collaboration between Midnite Mike and someone else and it's Riton on the remix. Def nod to his Kraut Rock tendencies with the mix title anyway. It really has to be heard in full as it's just a proper tripped out party track with crazy layered vocals and allsorts of mad sax and disjointed key solos. After hours of playing darker or moody electronic music I often find tracks like this can be a good way to end the night or a party on a slightly lighter note. Just a good fun record really!
