Six Pack
Timmy Stewart, 9th February
Are your dance music muscles getting a little bit out of shape? Fight off the flabby tunes out there and get the ATL Dance Six Pack with one workout per week...

Gavin Herlihy - Opium Haze (Kindisch)
This is my pick from Gavin Herlihy's new E.P on Get Physical offshoot Kindisch. It's coming over like a modern approach on the Greenskeepers sound to me... Cracking double bass action with just the right amount of glitch. I think Gavin is really going to get a lot of attention this year with tracks and remixes on Imprime and Moodmusic also on the way... and like a lot of UK based DJs he's now up and moved to the underground dance music capital - Berlin.

Eddie Thoneick & Female Deejays - If Only feat. Chelonis R. Jones, Presslaboys Remix (Opaque Music)
A blinder of a track here with two key artists involved in this remix. Presslaboys provide the great electronic backing track and Chelonis R Jones uses his unmistakable Prince like vocals to great effect again. I'm a sucker for vocals like this and have loved all Chelonis stuff since I first heard his dulcet tones on The Rush single on Get Physical. Alongside Capital A, I reckon he's got one of the best voices in dance music and I'd love to get to work with them both at some stage.

DJinxx, Xpansul - Spanish Kebab (OVUM)
Another month another blinder from the Ovum camp... Josh Wink hasn't really put a foot wrong with his label to date and by securing this track from Djinxx and Xpansul he's struck tech house gold again... I played this in the Kitten last week and the reaction first time out was amazing to say the least. Dark and driving!

Stewart & Juthan - Like No Other (Unsigned)
A wee exclusive of my new project with Dublin DJ Arveene... This could def be the start of a beautiful relationship as we take Arveene's love of old school electro and mix it with my love of deep electronic house... File under Space Funk!

Extended Family - Ulysses, Harvey's Crowd Control Remix (Auto)
As I'm currently digitizing my whole record collection at the min I'm going to highlight gems from the past that still sound bang up to date or even better, still ahead of their time... Harvey's stellar remix of the Extended family is a sublime journey through dub, disco and tribal house and the rough cut and paste manner in which he arranged it, on reel to reel btw, throw the dance floor into disarray every time... Proper classic that sounds like it was made next year.

Spirit Catcher & Compuphonic - Mastermind (2020 Vision)
A new collaboration from everyone's fav disco house dudes Spirit Catcher and another Belgian artist Compuphonic... Don't know much about the latter except I like the effect he's having on these two... Proper heads down club tackle that's coming over like a Quincy Jones meets Giorgio Moroder... Top stuff again from the ever-consistent 2020 Vision.
