Gregory Ferguson is one of the most exciting dance producer to come out of Ireland in years. Better known as Jupiter Ace, the 27 year old is renowned across the house music world for his fresh and distinctive sound. Since the worldwide success of '1000 Years', a big, funky house tune with an unforgettable vocal, Jupiter has been busy remixing for Ministry, Polydor, Positiva, Fatboy Slim, Sony/BMG, Southern Fried, Skint and Azuli to name a few. Gregory began producing as Jupiter Ace in 1999 and quickly became known as "Northern Ireland's best kept secret" (NME). His reputation as a gifted producer and DJ rapidly spread and he soon found himself performing with Utah Saints in U2's famous Kitchen club, leading to a nomination for "Best Newcomer" at the Planet Love Awards 2001. To showcase his productions, Gregory set up FI Recordings with fellow Irishman Gareth Kane. The result was a collection of dancefloor bombs combining cutting edge production with floorfilling tunes, with support from Lottie to Soulwax. He then wrote '1000 Years' which truly exploded, reaching No 1 In the Buzz and Cool Cuts charts twice, catapulting him into a whirlwind of global DJ sets and high profile remixes. As a DJ, Gregory can get the toughest audiences screaming for more. Using his considerable studio skills, he creates his own remixes and bootlegs for his DJ sets. He frequently stuns audiences with his DJ skills at clubs including, The Cross, Pacha, Ministry, Godskitchen, The Egg, Lush and many more. Recent highlights include Wakestock, Peppermint Club, Dubai and making his debut at Pacha in Spain for house giants Azuli. Gregory's newest project is AJ Suzuki. This band project features Gregory on vocals and guitar. Local scenester Kristian Nairn plays lead guitar with uber-cool Stu Gowdy on synth and powerhouse Marty Jones on drums. AJ Suzuki fuses electro sounds with guitars to create something really fresh. AJ Suzuki has now exploded onto the live scene. The band received an ecstatic reception at their very first gig and quickly went on to support Calvin Harris on the Irish Leg of his tour. They are now tipped by some as the best new band in Northern Ireland. AJ Suzuki have caused a major stir with local press and radio, with extensive play on BBC Radio Ulster, Rory McConnell on Radio 1 and XFM in London. The band were recently chosen to record a live session for the Radio 1 programme and have just made their first TV appearance on ATL TV. The band will release their first single, 'Jump Start', in early spring and will be taking the live show on the road, with gigs planned in London and around the UK. With the buzz around this band building fast, 2008 is going to be a great year for AJ Suzuki! | ||
