Northern Irish act Strait Laces have been chosen as one of the winners of Roundhouse Studios' 30 30 competition, sponsored by EMI.

The prize for the Coleraine-based trio will be recording time in the Roundhouse EMI Studio where they will get the chance to work with renowned music producers and take part in a bespoke mentoring programme designed to help develop their music careers.

After recording in September, the band will also have the chance to perform as part of the Emerging Proms in October - the partner of the BBC's own Electric Proms festival dedicated to emerging artists.
