The German tehcno DJ is taking over the ATL website at the mo. Not only has he provided us with his current top ten, here the ATL autobot grills the unsuspecting victim on his musical roots and reminds him tragically of the time his house burnt down. Ooops. ATL: Hi, and how the hell are you today? Len Faki: Well... got very late to bed, finally fell asleep... soon after fell almost out of my bed because the neighbours apartment is under construction and hell knows what incredible noisy machinery they are using. ATL: Let's get started then. First musical memory? LF: Family parties where everyone from toddler to granny was dancing to Turkish folk music. ATL: Ever played Ireland and if so where, when and how was it for you? LF: Dublin, this year. Was great! The party was in the basement of a very old winery. Perfect surrounding! ATL: What prompted you to get fully involved in dance music? LF: Not one specific event, guess I was searching for. ATL: Last piece vinyl you bought and is it going to finally pop it's wee plastic clogs soon? LF: Lucky me. After buying my vinyls are digitally saved for eternity. ATL: Best clubbing experience? LF: Don't have a best or average list (a worst maybe). Of course it's all about the people. ATL: Your house is on fire, you can only carry one piece of vinyl or CD out, what will it be? LF: Thanks for reminding of that experience, actually happened a few years ago. Truth is I left my burning house with the door wide open, but the keys in my hand - yep! ATL: Non dance music, what are you listening to at the mo? LF:Right now? Turkish fusion bands from the 70's a friend gave me yesterday. Weird and fantastic! ATL: Do you have any famous DJ mates and if so who, and what are they really like? Go on you can tell us... LF: Sure ;) ATL: What is really the best club in the world? LF: Hello?!? home sweet home, of course! Berghain-berlin. ATL: You criminal record - whats the worst piece of music ever played out? LF: Looking back, there are only those I'm not playing anymore, but I'm at peace with all of them. ATL: Best DJ in the world and why? LF: Life, isn't it? Lot's of sounds everywhere, but the most incredible one I remember is the absence of any (a desert in Africa I once were) - quite scary! ATL: And when will we see you again then? LF: Guess soon? ATL: Right, gis your current top 5 and then bugger of out of it we have work to do y'know... LF: See Dance Weapons! ATL: Good point... | ||
