The Micronauts are back for 2007 with a brand new album  'Damaging Consent' which includes a remix retrospective bonus CD featuring some of their classic reworkings of the likes of the Chemical Brothers and 16B. It hits the shops on November 5th.

Ever played Ireland and if so where, when and how was it for you?
Yes I played three times in Dublin: First it was a live gig with my band Impulsion at the Music Centre in 99, then two DJ sets as The Micronauts, in 2000 at the HQ Club and in 2001 at the Temple Bar Music Centre.

What prompted you to get fully involved in dance music?
Original Chicago and acid house, particularly the DJ Pierre tracks. Back then it was all I was waiting for in music: robotic and funky, mental and physical, cold and warm. Dance music is for your mind, your body and your soul...

Last piece vinyl you bought and is it going to finally pop it's wee plastic clogs soon?
I DJ with a laptop running  specialized software since 2003... I avoid mp3s and I try to get all the tracks in uncompressed format (.wav or.aif).

Best clubbing experience?
Isn't the best one the one you can't remember?

Your  house is on fire, you can only carry one piece of vinyl or CD out, what will it be?
I'd carry my hard drive. There are hours of great music in there!

Non dance music, what are you listening to at the mo?
Non-dance music is useless. I don't listen to it.

Do you have any famous DJ mates and if so who, and what are they really like? Go on you can tell us..
Yeah they're all my mates you know. We go all together to these special private parties, with loads of girls, booze and dope. It's once a month in a secret place, somewhere in Central Europe. I don't offer you to come with me the next time; they'll never let you in.

Stuff Ministry and all that crap, what is really the best club in the world?
Le Pulp in Paris but it's closed now.

You criminal record - whats the worst piece of music ever played out?

Me. Because.
