Great Lake Swimmers, Sleeping States
Canadian folk heroes Great Lake Swimmers will play their debut Belfast show in the Speakeasy on Saturday 14th November. Based around the songwriting talents of Tony Dekker they have released 4 albums since their self titled debut in 2003. 2007's effort Ongiara' was their breakthrough effort and their fourth album Lost Channels' released in March of this year was shortlisted for the 2009 Polaris Music Prize, the Canadian equivalent of the Mercury Music Prize. The band has been described as a mixture of Fleet Foxes and Iron and Wine.

Support comes from English folksters Sleeping States. Signed to the Bella Union label, they released their album 'In The Gardens of the North' in August to a chorus of critical acclaim.
