How are grade bands worked out?
The top 25% are given a grade A
The next 5% are given a grade B1
The next 5% are given a grade B2
The next 5% are given a grade C1
The next 5% are given a grade C2
The remaining 55% are given a grade D

Does my grade depend on my age?
Yes - we will be awarding extra points to you depending on your date of birth. See Get Your Grade for details.

Is there a text-only version of the online test?
Yes, on the 29th January 2004, this website will carry a text only version of the test. There are text only versions of all the practise tests.

Is the online test suitable for dyslexic users?
Yes - although the primary version of the test will have time limits that make it unsuitable for dyslexic users, we will offer a 'text-only' version of the test which has no time limit, making it suitable for dyslexic users.

Do I need to stay online during the test?
Yes. You will need to complete the full test to receive your score.

Do I need any plug-ins or extra software to play the online test?
No, you should be able to play the test in your normal internet browser. You will need to have cookies and javascript enabled to play the main version of the test, but you can play the text only version without these.

Is the online quiz only for UK residents?
Although you have to own a UK TV license to receive BBC channels, the internet version of the quiz is open to anyone.
