Arts & CultureYou are in: North East Scotland, Orkney & Shetland > People & Places > Arts & Culture > My Story ![]() My StoryThey say there's a book inside every one of us. This autumn, the BBC is asking the whole country to share their untold real life stories with the hope of finding that book. Mark Bell, BBC Arts Commissioner commented: "My Story aims to get the whole nation reading, writing and telling their most remarkable stories." The My Story website has videos and interactive tools to help you plan and structure your story as well as tips on writing styles and skills. In addition, short videos presented by Nina Wadia and Lenny Henry show how easy it is to get started by exploring simple ideas to get the creative juices flowing. You can also go along to the roadshow which is visiting The Mitchell Library, Glasgow, on 31 October. You can submit your story through the My Story website or by post, with the most compelling storytellers having the chance to appear in a TV series on BBC ONE in 2010. Five storytellers could have their book published, seeing the story of their lives available to buy in shops, after the programmes are transmitted. Stories must be between 300 and 1,500 words long and be accompanied by a summary of between 50 and 300 words and a short description. The deadline for entries is 16 December 2009. Full terms and conditions are available on the My Story website.
