Spring
is here, the sap is rising, and love is in the air at Northampton's
Royal Theatre.
84 Charing Cross Road is a bitter sweet comedy - a true story -
about New York writer Helene Hanff and London bookseller Frank Doel.

Lenska plays Helene Hanff |
Through
their letters and passion for books, they share a transatlantic
romance that spans 20 years.
Their
friendship begins in the post-war world of 1949 and their correspondence
charts the changing times through to the 1960s.
The story became a successful film starring Anne Bancroft and Anthony
Hopkins.
The production coming to the Royal is on tour around the country.
It stars Rula Lenska (last seen at Derngate in The Vagina Monologues,
and famous for her TV roles in Rock Follies and EastEnders), and
William Gaunt (from TV's The Champions, Next of Kin and No Place
Like Home).
