More info:
You will see an abundance of wildlife including birds, insects and wild flowers. And step back in time to see the remains of 165 million-year-old creatures.
Getting there:
By bus:
Buses stop opposite the main entrance to the country park on the B570 (Gipsy Lane). Catch the No.46 Stagecoach United Counties bus from Northampton bus station (bay 8) or Church Street, Wellingborough. The service runs hourly from Northampton and half-hourly from Wellingborough (Monday to Saturday). A reduced service runs on Sundays. Call 0870 608 2608 for details.
By car: The main entrance to the country park is on the B570 (Gipsy Lane) off the A509 south-east of Wellingborough. Follow the brown and white signs. The car park is pay and display. Note: the country park is not signposted from the A45.
Walk conditions:
The footpaths are part hard surface and part soft track. There is also a large area of short grassland meadow. Walking is mainly on the flat, with gradients up to 1:12. There are a number of optional routes you can take away from the main route. These include a footpath across a field to Irchester which is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
