Balloon Festival

*Location: Racecourse Park, Northampton.

CSV Action, BBC Radio Northampton and the County Sports Partnership will all be there, alongside the colourful and majestic balloons.

Lots of hot air balloons lift off

In our tent this year, we'll be more interactive than ever before. We will be offering people the chance to show their skills on Nintendo Wii's as well as promote our BBC Radio Northampton Health Club alongside the County Sports Partnership.

If you think playing video games means sitting on the sofa, think again. Mums and Dads, as well as children can all come and have a go and test their fitness at the same time.

You can also join the free BBC Radio Northampton Health Club whilst you are there and pick up your free bag of goodies. Be sure to get there early before all the balloons and goodies go!

As well as all the stalls at the event, there will be balloons from all corners of the country. There are over 70 confirmed entries this year to fill the town's skies with colour and beauty. The first event will be the early morning balloon race at 6am on Friday, 17th August and the festival will close with the last race at 6pm on Sunday, 19th August.

The festival will be showcasing Knights of the damned in the arena - a huge jousting event, it will also be featuring Monster trucks, Xtreme motorcycle stunt groups, David Beckham football academy and much more. The Northampton Balloon festival has been in existence for 17 years and Radio Northampton will be there as usual to meet and greet the festival goers.
