DrivetimeYou are in: Northamptonshire > Local Radio > Drivetime > Annabel Amos ![]() BBC Northampton's Annabel Amos Annabel AmosAlongside Richard Savage, your other host is Annabel Amos. You can catch them both on BBC Radio Northampton, weekdays from 4pm.
The Barratt Maternity Ward was the scene of Annabel's entrance into this world and it's been downhill ever since. She spent most of her early years growing up in a hotel in Weedon, and her teenage years were spent in the village of Flore where her family have lived for generations. ![]() Richard Savage and Annabel Amos One of her first jobs was selling double glazing and Annabel loved nothing more than spending her evenings on the phone to people who had either been dead five years, lived in a window-less shed or liked to hang up on "irritating telesales idiots". It didn't take long to realise this wasn't for her so she upped and left to university, spending four years between Newcastle, Chile and France (the language in the former being the far harder to master). A few years in London then proved to her that Northampton really was where it's at, and so Annabel returned to the rose of the shires to become a crucial cog in the machine that is BBC Radio Northampton. She started off as a news reporter, before moving to work with Jonathan Vernon-Smith on the Lunchtime Show. She then presented the Afternoon Show before leaving temporarily to have a baby. She was delighted to come back to the fold to work with Richard. Annabel lives in Northampton with her husband, baby boy and the infamous blanket-humping Cocker Spaniel called Hattie. Annabel describes Richard"He's a consummate professional and he lets me giggle non-stop between 4 and 6 every weekday - he's also almost as obsessed with good grammar as I am, so we're a perfect team!" last updated: 12/08/2008 at 14:47 SEE ALSOYou are in: Northamptonshire > Local Radio > Drivetime > Annabel Amos
