Weekday Presenter Profiles

Jonathan Vernon-Smith was born in Welwyn Garden City in Herfordshire and grew up in Harpenden.

Educated at Sir John Lawes School in Harpenden, Jonathan then went onto the University of Surrey to study English Language and Linguistics.

Jonathan started his working life in a hotel, before moving to work as a wine merchant. His first job in the BBC was at BBC Three Counties Radio as a phone answerer because "they were desperate for someone to add some class to the station!" Before leaving the glamour of Three Counties, Jonathan was working on the consumer show.

Jonathan joined BBC Radio Northampton as presenter of the lunch time show in July 2005.
