Shakespeare's
granddaughter lived here
William
Shakespeare's granddaughter, Elizabeth Bernard, lived in this 15th
century manor house (she's buried in the nearby church).
In 1899 the manor house was opened as a museum.
It has a variety of displays: Northamptonshire's military history,
19th Century fashion and a gallery of Northampton life. There's also
a leathercraft gallery showing examples from around the world.
The museum is surrounded by the beautiful Abington Park.
