by a bewildering array of beasts.

The
table-top worlds of Blood Bowl, Gorka Morka and LOTR are coming
to Rushden this weekend.
East
Northamptonshire Council has teamed up with Games Workshop for Slayer
Day on Sunday, 19th October, 2003. It's being held at the Pemberton
Centre on HE Bates Way, Rushden.

Gamers
and non-gamers will be able to take part in 10 separate Games Tables.
There'll be a free drawing competition, and advice on painting models
and building terrains.
There's
a free model competition with six categories:
Young Bloods (14 years and under)
Warhammer 40,000 Single Miniature
Warhammer 40,000 Vehicle
Warhammer Fantasy Single Miniature
Warhammer Fantasy Monster
Open competition
Category
winners get a Dwarf Slayer Lord Bust and the overall winner gets
a unique Slayer Lord Axe.

Five
Regional Games Workshop Tournaments will be taking place in the
Pemberton Centre sports hall. This 50 table event has three tournaments
taking place at the same time: Warhammer 40,000 (1,000 points),
Lord of the Rings (1,000 points good and evil) and Warhammer (1,500
points).
Many
of the top games players in the country will be competing to see
who will eventually walk away with a tournament axe.
East
Northamptonshire's 'Cultural. Community. Partnerships.' arts project
has also been working with local secondary school students to design
banners based on the Warhammer theme. Their work will be on display
in the Slayer Day and tournament halls.
Pricing
Open
day passes for Slayer Day cost £6.00. If you want to compete
in a tournament, the cost is £25.00 in advance.
Tournament
registration is at 9.00am. The doors open at 10.00am. Presentations
will be held between 5.30pm and 6.00pm.
