So you want to cheat at Conkers? Here's our top ten tips for hardening your conkers...

1		Soak in vinegar

2		Bake in the oven

3		Freeze them overnight

4		Coat with varnish

5		Soak in vodka

6		Paint with nail varnish (pink conkers anyone?)

7		Wrap in newspaper and store in a drawer for a year

8		Spray with hairspray

9		Boil in a vindaloo

10		Inject with botox
