The
39th World Conker Championships take place in the Northamptonshire
village of Ashton, near Oundle.
Sunday,
12th October, 2002. 9.30am to 3.00pm
The
village of Ashton is about 1 mile from Oundle, Northamptonshire.
From
the A14 and Thrapston: Go north on the A605 towards Oundle,
but do not go into the town. At the roundabout (junction with the
A427) turn right on the minor road to Ashton.
From
Northampton: Take
the A45, bypassing Wellingborough, until you reach the A14. Go straight
ahead at the roundabout, joining the A605. Follow the directions
from the A14 and Thrapston, above.
From
Kettering: Take
the A43 towards Corby. Join the A427 and follow the signs to Oundle.
Travel through Oundle. At the roundabout (junction with the A605)
on the other side of Oundle, go straight over, onto the minor road
to Ashton.
From
Corby: Take
the A427 to Oundle. Travel through the town, until you reach the
roundabout (junction with the A605). Go straight over, onto the
minor road to Ashton.
From
the A1 and Peterborough: Go
south on the A605 towards Oundle. At the roundabout (junction with
the A427), turn left onto the minor road to Ashton.
Car
parking, in fields, is signposted in the village.
