Your role as The Saint made you a familiar face
in the UK. How has this affected your life as an actor?
It put me rather nearer the top of the bill instead
of in the middle or lower.
You're now living in Los Angeles. How does
the public’s perception of you differ across the pond from in England?
The American public has no particular perception
of me as I'm hardly known over there.
What kind of acting work have you been doing
in The States?
Mostly television, a few films and the occasional
play.
Could you tell us a bit about Snakes And Ladders?
It's funny. A jolly evening in the theatre and
not highbrow at all. It's quite silly in fact, a lot of fun.
Have you performed in Norwich before?
Yes, many years ago whilst on tour in a play I
can't remember. I also filmed much of a TV mini-series here in the
late '80s.
How is the tour of Snakes And Ladders going?
Very well. We're doing better business than most
other touring companies.
Do you enjoy touring with a production? It must
be hard work.
Touring means living out of a suitcase. You get
to know most of the great London stations. It's not that hard.
Do you prefer doing television work or theatre?
TV for the money, stage for the satisfaction.
