What you will need:

Your equipment

Coloured, tissue paper
Newspaper
A toilet roll tube
Cane stick
Feathers
Buttons
A square piece of colourful material

Some string
Felt material
Small rubber bands
Two thin wooden sticks

Sellotape
Glue
Scissors
Ask an adult to help you as scissors can be very sharp!

Instructions

  Step 1
Scrunch up some newspaper into a ball to make the head. Wrap it in sellotape to keep the shape.
Step 2
Make a little hole in the paper with your finger and push the cane end into it. Use plenty of sellotape to secure it to the newspaper head.

  Step 3
Take the coloured tissue paper and cover the newspaper. Secure it neatly with some more sellotape at the bottom of the head.
Step 4
Cut away the rest of the paper and use sellotape to stick down the ends of the tissue paper.

  Step 5
Next, take the square piece of material and fold it in half to make a triangle. Fold it again, then cut a small hole in the top of the fold like this.
