The workshop had the theme of Grease where we had to make a video to the song Summer Nights.

I went with three of my friends, Nisha, Amy and Louise. We all dressed up so that we would look like we were from the film.

I wore a skirt with a blue cardigan and a pink scarf around my neck. My friends wore cropped trousers and we all put on our dancing shoes.

When we arrived, there were as many as 32 other people there!

There were children from all around the county, from Dereham, Norwich, Harleston and Swaffham. I was surprised how many people were there.

We had to work in pairs to practise a particular line from the song and do a dance for the video.

We then did a name game which was doing a dance to your full name and we also danced in groups of seven.

At one time we had to make up a name to join the Pink Ladies, or for the boys, The T Birds!

My favourite part was when we were being filmed doing our dance to Summer Nights.

It was so difficult because we had to keep dancing and dancing across the stage!

But we had three breaks so we could loiter in the main hall or go and buy a lollipop in the cafe.

At the workshop we learnt many things, like how to zoom in and out on the camera.

We were told that on the video they would add us behind Olivia Newton John and John Travolta. They were able to do this because on stage we had to dance in front of a green screen.

I'm really pleased because we will all get a copy of the video to keep!

I would definitely go again because it was so lively and great fun and the carers there were really kind.

Next Event

The next Make A Pop Video day (for those aged 8-14) takes place at the Norwich Arts Centre on Thursday 15 April, 2004.

Spend the day with professional film-makers creating your own video to 5ive's We Will Rock You.

Using television special effects you will star in the video alongside the band. Bring any costume you want to wear and a packed lunch.

The workshop costs £30 per child, which includes a copy of the final pop video on VHS or DVD. For more details call Panda on 01603 614351.
