Football mad Jake Humphrey is the face of a new Saturday morning kids' television show, Sportsround. We catch up with the Norfolk presenter to find out more.

Norfolk's Jake Humphrey is presenting a new interactive sports show on CBBC television.

The new programme, called Sportsround, is an addition to Newsround and it will add a sporting flavour to the Saturday morning line-up by looking behind the week's sporting headlines.

Jake told BBC Norfolk Kids that he's really looking forward to fronting the show.

"I've always loved sport and have always wanted to get more involved, so doing this show is perfect," he said.

"It's a really family-orientated show, with mums and dads watching with the kids and getting involved," he added.

Sportsround will be a mix of news and features and will pave the way for an afternoon of sport. Jake said it was an exciting time to be involved as it's the beginning of something new.

"It's the first time children will have a dedicated sports programme - there are very little sports programmes around for kids - and I think it's really important for the BBC to get young people involved in sport," he said.

It's not all sports news - Jake will be interviewing some of the top names in sports, including Sven-Goran Eriksson.

"We spent an hour with Eriksson in his office which was great as no-one's ever done that before. Some of the big names in sports are really keen to get involved," he said.

As well as being an interactive programme, Sportsround will also work with sporting bodies across the country at grassroots level, encouraging more children to take up sport.

And it's not just about football either!

"We'll be featuring some unusual sports too and inviting kids to tell us about their sport - who knows we may be filming you as part of the programme," said Jake.

As for Jake's favourite sporting moment, there's no contest:

"My favourite moment is when Norwich City beat Manchester United 2-0 in the Premiership last season. It was fantastic!"

Sportsround starts on Saturday 11 September, at 11.45am on CBBC One.
