Five children and two adults from Colby School
were invited by Norman Lamb (our local MP) to visit 10 Downing Street,
because we were going to deliver two card figures, one happy and
one sad.

By the river Thames in London |
The sad one was sad because it hadn't got an education,
and the other one was happy because it had gone to school.
Back to School
This visit was the result of MPs' Back to School
Day in April 2004, which was about the hundreds of children across
the world who don't go to school.
We gave a presentation to Norman Lamb to give the
message that every child in the world should have a quality education.
Everyone worked hard for the meeting with Mr Lamb
by creating poetry, giving a talk about our African foster child
Tousma, and a presentation on our school.

Once we got to London we met Natasha, who is Norman
Lamb's secretary.
She took us to 10 Downing Street where we met Norman
Lamb and presented the two card figures.
We were interviewed by two different TV news stations
- Look East and Anglia News.
Politicians in action
After Downing Street, we went to the Houses Of
Parliament with Norman Lamb. We saw two debates, one at the House
of Commons and one at the House of Lords.
Afterwards we went to St James' Park and ate our
lunch, where we saw a black swan and five pelicans.
We then walked to Buckingham Palace. The Queen
was at home because the flag was flying. On the way back we saw
the Tower of London.
When we got home we were very glad we had been
to London, and we want Tony Blair to do something about every child
having a quality education.
