Make some Christmas decorations out of popcorn

Get your fingers sticky this Christmas, with our cool Christmas decorations made out of popcorn. Just follow our easy instructions.


Forget boring paper chains and tinsel, we've got some more exciting ideas for you to try. Have some fun this Christmas and make some popcorn decorations.

What you will need

The ingredients

Popcorn
Bodkin or thick needle
Thread or twine
Paint or glitter
PVA glue
Ribbon (optional)
Scissors
Ask an adult to help you as scissors and needles are sharp!

Instructions

  Step 1
Cook the popcorn according to the instructions - in the pan or microwave oven and allow to cool overnight. Make sure you get an adult to help you.
Step 2
Decorate the popcorn as you wish - the sky's the limit. Spray some paint or use some PVA water-soluble glue and dip the popcorn into glitter or sequins.

  Step 3
When the paint is dry, take a bodkin or thick needle and thread some twine or cotton and then thread the popcorn garland together.
Step 4
The popcorn will be more secure if you thread through the thickest part of the popcorn. Make sure the ends are tied securely, and decorate the ends with a ribbon bow.

Your decorations are now ready to hang up around the house! Hang them by the door frames or windows. You can even put them on your tree or wrap them around a candle base.
