Instructions

Picture: Draw around the template
  Step 1
Make a cardboard template of your shape. We have chosen a heart shape. Trace around it on the coloured paper.

Cut out the shape and do the same again until you have lots of coloured shapes. Use different colours!

  Step 3
Place all of the shapes on top of each other and with a craft knife, ask an adult to cut a small cross in the centre of your shapes.
Step 4
Take the shapes and glue them together in pairs. Place a small dot at three points around the edge of the shape. Glue the pairs together so that they overlap neatly.

  Step 5
Now take your pairs and glue them all together by putting a dot of glue in the centre of the shapes.
Step 6
Cut two of the same shape out of the card so that you have one for each end. Then carefully stick them to each end of your pile.

Step 7
Now take your string and cut a long piece (this will be the length of your decoration). T
ie a loop at one end and leave a tail. Stick this tail to the card with sellotape.

Step 8
Now thread the string through the needle and thread the needle through the centre of the shapes. Tie another loop at the other end of the string and stick the tail to the card.

Your decorations are now ready to hang up! Open out the stack of shapes and hang up by the loops at each end.

Hang them across the rooms or the hallway. Try making different shapes and use lots of different colours!
