Make a colourful orange mobile for Christmas
Make a funky mobile for Christmas, using some oranges. It's easy and fun - just follow our instructions.

What you will need

Picture: oranges
The main ingredient

Oranges
PVA glue
G
litter
Bodkin and thread
Ribbon
Ask an adult to help you as knives can be very sharp!

 

Instructions

  Step 1
Cut the oranges up into 1/2 inch slices and place on a baking tray. Get an adult to help you.
Step 2
Pop them into a pre-heated oven on gas mark 2 for an hour, turning them over halfway. Allow to dry overnight.

  Step 3
When the oranges are dry, dip into PVA glue or pour it on and sprinkle with glitter or sequins.
Step 4
When dry, repeat on the other side.

Thread the orange slices together, making sure you carefully thread the bodkin right through the centre of the slice.
Step 6
Secure the ends and sew a piece of ribbon tightly to the top. Make a bow with the two ribbons which hang down straight. Then make another bow.

  Step 7
Next, secure the middle with a stitch or two or a little brooch or safety pin. Now you can hang up your mobile!

Your decorations are now ready to hang up. Hang them next to a mirror or on the wall in the hall.
