Norwich City win Premiership promotion

Norwich City Football Club were promoted to the Premiership on Wednesday 21 April, 2004 without even kicking a ball.

The Canaries won automatic promotion to football's top flight after Sunderland lost 3-0 to Crystal Palace. Norwich City are back in the top division after being relegated in 1995.

The Canary bosses - Delia Smith, husband Michael Wynn-Jones and Nigel Worthington - gathered at Carrow Road with around 3,000 fans to listen to Sunderland's game.
