The multi-coloured roofs of Norwich's historic
Market Place viewed from outside City Hall. At
the time of the Norman Conquest in 1066, Norwich was one of the most
important boroughs in the kingdom.
The Normans moved the city's market from Tombland
to its current location in the heart of the city where it remains
a main area of trading.
The largest six day open air market in England,
you will find more than 200 market stalls selling a huge range of
products and services. Norwich City Council has plans to refurbished
the market in the coming months to ensure its future as a retail
focus in the city.
In this panorama you can also see Norwich
Castle, St Peter Mancroft Church, The
Forum, City Hall, the Guildhall and in the distance the
spire of Norwich Cathedral.
