This is a view of the television studio at the BBC's
multi-million pound headquarters in the centre of Norwich.
Here you can see the huge back-projected screen
which is used to create the window on the world shot during Look
East, showing the Millennium Library at The Forum.
As the image spins you can see robotic cameras
4, 2, 3 and 1, each with an autocue housing. There are 2 floor monitors
for the presenters, along with an additional back-projected screen
which is used for graphic and weather presentations.
The studio is usually set for transmissions of
Look East and other news bulletins for the region at breakfast and
lunchtime.
Each Sunday morning when Parliament is sitting,
this set is struck to make way for The Politics Show.
The BBC's television operation in the East joined
online and radio collegues at The Forum in September 2003. The new
studio complex contains around 200 video monitors and some 50 miles
of cable!
Most of the television technology has been specially
commissioned for the new Norwich studio.
