The 17th century National Trust property is one
of the country's great Jacobean houses.
Large hedges at either side of the driveway conceal
hollow spaces big enough to walk into. The beautiful parkland and
ornamental gardens surrounding the mansion were landscaped in the
18th century.
The estate boasts around 600 acres of woodland,
800 acres of permanent pasture and a long artificial lake.
