An army of 500 volunteers runs and organise the
Worstead Festival, which is dedicated to raising money for local
good causes.
The volunteers are responsible for putting on
on the many attractions that bring the people flocking year after
year.
The Festival encompasses the whole village and includes free parking
for upto 4,000 cars.

Spinning the Worstead way! |
Above all, the Worstead Festival offers a fun family
day out, that combines country crafts, spinning and weaving demonstrations,
farmyard and rare-breed animals, vintage cars, old engines and tractors
and agricultural implements.
There's also a wide spectrum of live music, and display ring entertainment,
air rifle and archery ranges, a dog show, a gymkhana, hot air balloons,
a five mile run and a fairground!
New events for 2003 include a gymkhana on
the Saturday and Companion Dog Show on the Sunday, both taking place
on Mill Hill.
Auction for good causes
For the first time this year an exciting charity auction will take
place on the Sunday, with over 100 items to bid for, including:
A day's scuba experience for a family of four
Head teacher for a day
Operational duty with North Norfolk Police
The Festival's aim of raising as much money for
local charities as possible still remains a priority.
Last year over £25,000 was given out in the form of grants
and donations.
Those benefiting included youth education and sports projects, older
people's pastimes, historic church of St Mary repairs and the North
Walsham Swimming Pool Fund.
So why not get yourself down to Worstead, where
you can have some fun and help a good cause at the same time?
