Housed in a fine pink Georgian building in the historic market town of Holt, the Bircham Gallery displays the contemporary paintings, prints, ceramics, sculpture and jewellery and offers a lively and constantly changing display.

2004 exhibitions include the following local artists:

Maureen Hickey (May exhibitions)
Born in 1950 in Berne Switzerland to Swiss/Irish parents and studied painting and subsequently printmaking at Camberwell College of Arts where she gained an M.A. in Fine Art Printmaking.

Maureen's prints originate in sequences as lines of poetry might form - they do not represent a narrative. They represent a range of intaglio techniques, steel or zinc based etchings using multiple processes.

John Newland (Oct exhibitions)
Was born in Norwich and studies at the Norwich School of Art, gaining the National Diploma in Illustration in 1957.
Having worked at Jarrold Printing for 40 years, he is now retired and dedicates his time to painting. He works mainly in acrylic.

Elaine Cox (December) Studied at St Martins School of Art and is a painter, illustrator and jeweller.

There is a strong link between her pictures and jewellery. Both stem from a fascination with the landscape.
