The theatre as it stands today will be joined to Dencora House by creating a modern open space for the foyer and box office. Building work has already started on this part of the modernisation.

Michael Hastings I beleive that these improvements will help the theatre move into the 21st century. I would like to say that all seats in the theatre are uncomfortable and I feel that attention and money should be spent on the seating in the stalls as well as this detracts from the great productions shown at the Theatre Royal.
